IRL Thumbnail Designer

We are seeking a talented real-life/IRL thumbnail designer to create engaging and eye-catching thumbnails for our YouTube videos. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize creative ideas for thumbnails that effectively convey the content and message of each video.
  • Use graphic design software to create visually appealing thumbnails optimized for various devices and screen sizes.
  • Select compelling images from video footage or photoshoots and enhance them as needed to create engaging thumbnails.
  • Integrate legible text elements such as titles, captions, and call-to-action phrases into thumbnail designs.
  • Ensure consistency with our branding guidelines, including color schemes, fonts, and logo placement, to maintain brand identity.
  • Conduct A/B testing of different thumbnail designs to identify optimal performance in terms of click-through rate (CTR) and viewer engagement.
  • Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in thumbnail design and YouTube optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with content creators, videographers, and editors to ensure thumbnails accurately represent video content.
  • Efficiently implement feedback from the team, iterating on designs to align with branding and content objectives.
  • Coordinate with the packaging team to ensure thumbnail designs align with overall branding and packaging strategies.
  • Share ideas, feedback, and assets with team members to collectively contribute to the success of thumbnail designs.

Requirements:

  • 1-2+ years of experience creating IRL thumbnails and using Photoshop.
  • Understanding of visual design principles for thumbnails, including composition and color theory.
  • Portfolio or previous experience demonstrating proficiency in creating various thumbnail styles.
  • Strong communication skills and accountability when working with team members.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changes when necessary.
  • Able to understand and implement feedback to improve thumbnail quality.
  • Flexible in adjusting to changes in deadlines and creating emergency thumbnails.
  • Knowledgeable about creating realistic-looking thumbnails.
