Senior Mechanical Engineering Leader

Wood is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Leader as part of our strategic growth initiatives. This role is integral to our Operations sector as we collaborate with a key player in the Oil & Gas field on a significant brownfields Engineering Service Contract.
The Operations division of Wood's APAC West business specializes in brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services tailored for the Oil & Gas sector, fostering long-term partnerships with leading producers in the region.
Located in a vibrant area, this permanent position offers both full-time and part-time (job share) options. Ideal candidates will hold an Engineering degree from a recognized institution and have substantial experience in a similar Lead Mechanical or Principal Mechanical Engineering role, with over 15 years of relevant design engineering experience in the Oil & Gas production or processing sectors.
Key qualifications include:
- Expertise in Mechanical engineering, with a deep understanding of advanced engineering principles and techniques, particularly in complex multi-discipline environments.
- Proven leadership skills with extensive supervisory experience, fostering a collaborative spirit and driving diverse teams towards best practices and optimal performance, prioritizing safety.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and legislation, with the ability to apply technical practices, codes, and standards effectively.
- Strong commercial acumen and a solutions-oriented mindset, adept at managing risks throughout the design process while adhering to safety, technical, and commercial standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including proficiency in technical report writing and professional presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering software.
- A passion for energy security and transition, with a vision for future energy models, complemented by experience in enhancing client efficiency and sustainability.
- A customer-centric approach, capable of building trusted relationships with stakeholders while ensuring operational excellence contributes to the competitive edge of Wood.
Previous experience in a client-facing leadership role on a major long-term Engineering Service Contract in Brownfields Oil & Gas will be a significant advantage.
