We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team in Melbourne.
About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications. You will interpret designs for implementation in projects, contribute to improvements to existing designs, monitor progress for adherence to program, and attend site meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design mechanical systems effectively and efficiently for commercial construction projects. Utilize a range of computer programs to design, evaluate, and develop mechanical systems for various projects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure system and project quality by researching and testing methods and materials being recommended.
- Design and Construction Process: Be involved in the design and construction process from value management through to commissioning.
- Engineering Support: Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' Australian engineering experience.
- Tier 1 hospital experience highly desired.
- Project engineer and operational experience.
- Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specifications, standards, and implications for project accountabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve on the spot.
- High attention to detail.
- Sound computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam.
