Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in the APY Lands.
As an Aboriginal Mental Health Wellbeing Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of programs for Aboriginal children and young people within the WCHN APY Lands Integrated Model of Care (IMOC).
You will provide cultural advice and guidance to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal workforce within CAMHS and support improvements in the quality and distribution of services across CAMHS and within the APY Lands team.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the delivery of social and emotional wellbeing programs for Aboriginal children and young people within the WCHN APY Lands IMOC.
- Provide cultural advice and guidance to the CAMHS team to enhance care delivery.
- Support improvements in service quality and distribution across CAMHS and the APY Lands team.
- Address the mental health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal children, young people, and their families through running programs and supporting clinicians.
- Offer timely cultural advice to multidisciplinary staff to enhance care delivery.
- Knowledge relating to the provision of social and emotional/mental health services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to promote and understand cultural safety within APY IMoC teams by raising awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
- Ability to negotiate safe practice boundaries and know when to refer to other professional disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and establishing relationships with Aboriginal children and young people to enable their needs to be met.
- Demonstrated experience working in social and emotional/mental health services and/or other relevant community services, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience running programs in social and emotional/mental health contexts.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive in remote locations.

Salary and BenefitsThis role comes with a salary package including a range of benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 each FBT year + $2,650 for meal entertainment expenses each FBT year, access to Fitness Passport, free public transport for SA Health Metropolitan Hospital Workers, generous leave provisions, professional development opportunities, and support for you and your family via our Employee Assistance Program.
This role also includes additional 30% on top of your base pay rate for working in a remote environment and travel allowance each trip.
