
Psychosocial Support Specialist

We are seeking experienced professionals to deliver psychosocial interventions and support services in response to trauma and critical incidents. This role involves providing emergency response, critical incident support, planned support services, disaster response, and incident forums using Psychological First Aid (PFA) and stepped care approaches.
About the Position
The primary objective of this role is to offer critical incident response services during incidents or organisational change, while also informing client organisations of key themes, recommendations, and opportunities for internal process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver psychosocial interventions, support, and counselling.
- Utilise trauma management expertise and consultancy services as required.
- Assess workplace issues, identify intervention programs, and provide solution-focused advice to achieve desired outcomes.
- Work flexibly in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and produce clear reports.
- Provide People Assist services where applicable.
- Demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills, collaborating with stakeholders as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a psychologist or social worker is desirable; training in Psychological First Aid is essential.
- Tertiary qualification in Behavioural Sciences and registration with the appropriate professional body are mandatory.
- A current driver's license and access to a vehicle are also required.
