About Our Village Chaplain Role

We are a community that seeks to see a Northern Beaches that knows Jesus by making disciples who grow to maturity in Christ for God's glory.

A key part of realising this vision is through active, church-connected ministry within two of our local aged care villages.

The Role Overview

Our Village Chaplain will provide spiritual support and encouragement to residents and their family members, working sensitively in a multi-faith environment. They will lead chapel services, participate in commemoration services, and meet regularly with other members of the pastoral care team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual support and guidance to residents and their family members.
  • Lead chapel services on Sunday morning for independent living residents.
  • Participate in commemoration services for ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, Vietnam Veterans Day and others.
  • Meet regularly with other members of the pastoral care team to collaborate, train and direct members.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A mature and godly follower of Jesus.
  • A theological qualification from a reformed evangelical theological college.
  • A Certificate IV in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or a Certificate / Diploma of Chaplaincy.
  • Experience leading volunteer teams and identifying, developing, and equipping leaders.
