About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Materials Manager to oversee our procurement and inventory processes. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, accurate, and quality supply of all raw and fabricated materials to meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bulk Material Sourcing: Establish strong relationships with key suppliers to secure quality materials at competitive rates.
  • Purchasing Management: Regularly review prices and supply, identifying opportunities for cost, quality, or availability improvements. Process purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers and review vendor account reconciliations.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Obtain and review supplier quotations for goods and services.
  • Inventory Control: Order stock in consultation with the Stock Controller at competitive rates.
  • Micronet MRP System Management: Manage the Micronet MRP system to monitor stock levels and ensure material supply aligns with production demands.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate records and data integrity within the inventory system.
  • Stock Takes and Reports: Assist in managing stock takes and producing monthly stock reports.
  • Error Resolution: Investigate and rectify errors, updating min/max reorder points as demand changes.
  • Delivery Docket Entry: Ensure accurate entry of delivery dockets.
  • Transport Documentation: Compile and supply transport documentation for local and export freight.
  • Procurement Planning: Plan and schedule procurement of raw materials and components to meet demand and quality specifications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to manage purchase decisions and supplier accounts.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide cost-benefit analyses and updates on procurement schedules.
Required Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a senior procurement role.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Procurement Experience: Experience in procurement and inventory control within fabrication and assembly processes.
  • MRP/ERP Systems: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (Micronet, SAP, or similar).
  • Decision Making: Strong decision-making and material control policy development skills.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Highly organised, process-driven, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Benefits and Salary
