About the Role:

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Safety Inspector to join our team in the Electrical Safety Office. As a Senior Electrical Safety Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the electrical safety of Queenslanders at work and in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply electrical safety legislation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct targeted auditing and engagement programs to monitor and assess compliance with electrical safety laws.
  • Investigate electrical incidents and complaints, and provide technical advice to investigations teams.
  • Prepare and review disciplinary action referrals for the independent Electrical Licensing Committee.
  • Collaborate with industry and other stakeholders to improve electrical safety outcomes and reduce the risk of death, injury, and destruction of property caused by electricity.

The Electrical Safety Office is a key part of the Office of Industrial Relations, and our vision is to prevent death, injury, and destruction of property caused by electricity. We work towards this vision by monitoring and enforcing compliance with electrical safety laws, and by providing services that are easy to access and responsive to the needs of the industry and community.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Safety Inspector who has a strong understanding of electrical safety legislation and regulations. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with industry and other stakeholders to achieve electrical safety outcomes.
