About the Role
The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Inspector to join our team in the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) department. As a Lead Inspector, you will play a critical role in enforcing work health and safety laws, investigating workplace fatalities and serious injuries, and educating employees and employers on their legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an efficient, flexible, and responsive state-wide team of inspectors
- Support the Operations Manager with operational requirements and provide supervision, mentoring, and coaching to inspectors in the field
- Apply workplace health and safety protocols in community enforcement or other regulatory enforcement
- Engage with stakeholders, partner, and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a regulatory framework
