Facilities Coordinator Role
- Supports the management of property related repairs and maintenance.
- Reviews submitted work requests to assess validity, value for money, and compliance with policies.
- Liaises with external facilities management providers to ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Mitigates WHS issues and risks across the property portfolio.
The Facilities Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Manager - Property & Facilities to manage all property related repairs and maintenance carried out by contracted third-party facilities management organisations and other contractors. This role requires strong discipline knowledge gained through experience, training or education in facilities management, including processes, reporting, and systems required to manage a national property portfolio.
In addition, the Coordinator must operate within compliance and quality control practices and processes, particularly in relation to building codes and legislation. They will deliver minor capital works projects and major repairs, and have sound technical knowledge and expertise in Building Codes, Australian Standards and Regulatory requirements.
They will also be able to effectively assess quotes for work, communicate and negotiate with stakeholders, and work under general direction from senior employees within clear objectives and budget constraints.
This role is ideal for someone who can manage time, set priorities, plan and organise their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteers. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems generally found in policies and practices.
