Job Summary: Skilled Operations Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Skilled Operations Assistant to join our team at our Port Macquarie facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the everyday running and maintenance of the facility, including general housekeeping duties to ensure the workshop is clean and well-organized at all times.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Upkeep: Assist in maintaining and upkeeping the overall facility and premises to a high standard, including but not limited to painting small building repairs, facility maintenance, gardening, weeding, and spraying minor repairs and maintenance using hand & power tools, cleaning & rubbish removal, and small renovations.
- Preparation and Assembly: Prepare manufactured components and equipment prior to painting, including but not limited to cleaning, sanding, minor body work repairs, and masking.
- Logistics and Transportation: Assist in loading and unloading of equipment and plant onto courier vehicles and trucks.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all HSE policies and procedures are followed as part of your duty of care and report incidents accordingly.
- Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, both verbally and in writing, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of general handyman tools, including hand and power tools, and able to fabricate and weld.
- Literacy and Numeracy: Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills, including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals, and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers, and quantities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, operate access equipment, lift, carry parts, twist, bend, reach, push, and pull.
Estimated Salary Range: AU$ 55,000 - AU$ 65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
