Job Summary

The Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer provides advice and support to commands on local Aboriginal issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain rapport with Elders, Leaders and Aboriginal community members by developing network contacts to strengthen cooperation and communication.
  • Assist community members with policing issues and engagement with statutory bodies.

Position is located in a Special Remote Location which attracts a fortnightly Special Remote Allowance.

Requirements
  • Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification as authorised by Part 5, Clause 26 of the Government Sector Employment Rules 2014.
  • Must sign a Prohibited Employment Declaration as part of NSW Child Protection requirements.
  • Working With Children Check is mandatory for this role.
