Job Opportunity: Payroll Specialist

This is an exciting career opportunity to take ownership of the national payroll function for a workforce of over 700 employees. In this role, you will lead the charge on optimizing systems and processes, including playing a key role in the review and potential implementation of a new payroll system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee end-to-end weekly and fortnightly in-house payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, and workers' compensation processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems, identifying and implementing opportunities for increased efficiency and automation.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing payroll team, while ensuring strict confidentiality and the integrity of payroll data.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity. They should have in-depth knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, and compliance requirements, as well as demonstrated experience managing payroll functions, ideally within the construction industry.
