Overview of the Role:

The Workforce Coordinator will play a pivotal part in overseeing the efficient management of officers allocated to District work units. This entails ensuring the timely delivery of demand management transport schedules across the State Custody Group.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Consulting with District Watchhouses to monitor capacity and forecast availability, guaranteeing that current and future capacity does not exceed build capacity and workforce capability.
  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of accurate and timely transport schedules in line with demand commitments, training, equity, leave, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Providing guidance on policy and procedure development relating to watchhouse capacity and transport capabilities, including leave management, establishment management, and employee entitlements.
  • Facilitating and managing the transfer of remanded and sentenced prisoners across QPS Watchhouses in consultation with District Watchhouses.
  • Leading and directing State Custody Unit rostering staff by determining priorities and resolving operational issues.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
