Strategic Litigation Leader

This is a senior leadership role within the Legal Services Commission. The Director Litigation will oversee the litigation team, contributing to the regulation of Queensland's legal profession.
The Director will have extensive experience in litigation and provide strategic legal advice. They will lead the litigation team, direct external engagement, and monitor internal performance.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional people leader with strong communication skills. They will be responsible for preparing and instructing counsel, and will have a good understanding of model litigant principles.
Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice on statutory responsibilities and service deliverables
- Lead and manage the Commission's litigation team
- Prepare and appear in discipline applications and enforcement action
- Advise, mentor, and support staff
- Review and develop complex legislative and policy change
- Provide oversight of the Commission's strategic and litigation performance
- Represent the Commissioner at external forums
