Director Litigation

The Queensland Government seeks a talented lawyer to lead the litigation team as Director Litigation.

  • This is an opportunity to contribute to the regulation of Queensland's legal profession and be instrumental in the outcomes of important work.

The Director will have extensive experience in litigation, providing senior-level strategic legal advice, policy delivery, and performance management. They will be an exceptional leader who can inspire and motivate their team.

  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Providing expert legal advice on statutory responsibilities and service deliverables
    • Leading and managing the litigation team
    • Preparing and appearing in discipline applications, prosecutions, and other enforcement actions
    • Advising, mentoring, and supporting staff to foster a positive team culture
    • Reviewing and developing legislative and policy changes to enhance the Commission's regulatory functions
    • Improving policies, procedures, and management systems for effective service delivery
    • Mentoring and advising the team to achieve quality results

The successful candidate will be admitted as an Australian lawyer, eligible to obtain a practising certificate in Queensland, and demonstrate high standards of professional ethical conduct.
