Compensation specialist sought to lead Native Title applications and advise Indigenous corporations across Australia.

Duties include leading compensation applications, conducting existing matters, collaborating with team members, developing client relationships, maintaining high standards of cultural competence, and providing exceptional service to clients.

The ideal candidate will have more than 4 years of experience working in Native Title and/or for First Nations clients, excellent legal skills, negotiation skills, network management, problem-solving ability, commercial acumen, and a passion for social justice.

Job Description
  • Lead and drive Native Title compensation applications for various First Nation people across Australia
  • Contribute to the preparation and conduct of existing matters in collaboration with other team members
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to hold their trust throughout their matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in law and current Practicing Certificate
  • More than 4 years post admission experience working in Native Title and/or for First Nations clients
  • Excellent technical legal and analytical skills including demonstrated track record of producing technically excellent legal work
  • Exceptional influence and negotiation skills, ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
  • Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management and working as part of a team
