Job Title: Senior LawyerJob Summary:

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a senior lawyer to make a meaningful impact in the Kimberley region of Australia. As a senior lawyer, you will be working closely with Traditional Owners and Indigenous corporations to support their native title claims, land use, and cultural heritage matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Native Title Claims: Advise on native title claims, land use, and compensation.
  • Representation: Represent clients in Federal Court and the Native Title Tribunal.
  • Indigenous Governance: Advise on Indigenous governance and cultural heritage matters.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior lawyers and uphold legal compliance.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must be eligible for admission in WA and the High Court of Australia.
  • Post-Admission Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-admission legal experience is highly regarded.
  • Relevant Skills:
    • Native title, cultural heritage, or environmental law
    • Legal advisory work on governance, land use, or mining
    • Litigation before the Federal Court
    • Working with Indigenous corporations or PBCs
  • Personal Qualities:
    • High-level cultural competency and community engagement skills
    • A passion for social justice and Aboriginal rights
