Job Opportunity: Executive Director, Market Offer and Consumers

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the delivery of our Default Market Offer and regulatory initiatives that support energy consumers.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced organisation, with substantial knowledge and expertise across policy and regulatory change, stakeholder engagement, and data interpretation and management.

  • This role involves working closely with the Board and Senior Executive Team to advise on retail pricing, policy, and regulation.
  • You will also represent our organisation and the Default Market Offer and Consumers Branch to internal and external stakeholders, influencing and convincing them about specific objectives.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills are essential for this role, as you will work closely with the EGM, Senior Leadership Team, CEO, and Board on relevant projects and organisational activities.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team or similar role in a large complex people-centred organisation.
  • Substantial knowledge and demonstrated experience across policy and regulatory change, stakeholder engagement, and data interpretation and management.
  • Expert knowledge of Australian energy markets, including the role, purpose, and objectives of the AER and the complex political and stakeholder environment within which it operates.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.

This is an ongoing EL2 position with the possibility of attracting an additional allowance via an Individual Facility Arrangement (IFA) based on your skills and experience.

The role can be performed from any of our offices located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney, and we offer flexible working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, or job-share options.
