Job Title

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team, providing pathology services to various clients. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratories.

About the Role
  • Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including maintenance of analysers
  • Pre-analytical specimen handling
  • Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
  • Filing and storage of specimens and data entry
  • Supporting Scientists in the Lab as required
  • Staying up to date with processing requirements for different types of samples
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to result, sample requirements and general queries
  • Identifying and resolving problems on at the pre-analytic stage
Requirements
  • A great blend of skills, including specimen processing and data entry experience, excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment, and understanding of the importance of following procedures accurately
  • Prior laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential
  • Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or Pathology Collection is desirable
