Logistics Operations Manager

Overview:
The Logistics Operations Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the logistics operations across Australia and New Zealand. This role focuses on warehouse management and secondary transportation, ensuring exceptional customer service at the lowest operational cost while maintaining compliance with all regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage logistics service providers (LSPs) to meet budget and KPI targets.
  • Lead performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and warehouse safety compliance.
  • Ensure daily operations of 3 PL-managed warehouses across Australia and New Zealand comply with transport regulations and FMCG handling requirements.
  • Identify and implement sustainable improvements to achieve budget targets without compromising service quality.
  • Lead risk assessments and contingency planning for supply chain disruptions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Business, International Transport, Inventory, Finance, and Planning teams.
  • Optimize routes to market using global network modeling tools.
  • Develop operational capabilities and partner with Customer Supply Chain to meet business priorities.
  • Provide analysis and insights into logistics performance and business impact.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse operations and LSP management, preferably in FMCG with 3 PL experience.
  • Deep knowledge of demand and supply chain principles and 3 PL management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and foster collaboration.
  • Experience with Lean practices; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
  • Understanding of import/export logistics, freight forwarding, and dangerous goods regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan).
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills.
  • Understanding of ANZ logistics regulations and market dynamics.
