Accounting Manager Job Overview
HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our client's team in a key leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a proven ability to manage daily operations, ensure financial accuracy, and provide strategic insights to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage the monthly closing process, financial statements, and provide timely reports to the Managing Director.
- Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, regulations, and agreements.
- Communicate accounting policies effectively across various departments and branch offices.
- Guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting in alignment with US GAAP and government regulations.
- Supervise the monthly and annual closing processes, including reviewing financial statements, journal vouchers, account analyses, and sales reports.
- Keep the Managing Director informed about any financial and operational issues.
- Assist with budgeting functions, performance analysis, and budget preparation.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth annual audits.
- Liaise with internal IT and external vendors regarding SAP and other systems.
- Maintain and manage the fixed assets register.
- Provide necessary documentation to management teams in Australia, the US, and Japan.
- Lead and develop accounting staff, offering guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to make decisions, prioritize tasks, and find solutions independently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and process improvement capabilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong background in the wholesale/distribution industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP systems is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable.
