Aboriginal Liaison and Support Officer Role

This is a non-clinical role in the clinical environment, where you will support patients identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and their families/carers whilst receiving care at Auburn Hospital.

You will provide advocacy, referrals, and liaison during hospital care and discharge, develop links with local Indigenous communities and organisations, and assist in developing hospital programs to meet Aboriginal-specific health standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a related field

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Competence in the use of databases, electronic documentation, and computer-based administrative systems
