A rare and exciting chance to contribute to a top law firm on secondment with the Department of Defence.

About the Role
  • We are seeking experienced corporate lawyers at Associate to Special Counsel level with a minimum of 4 years post-admission experience.
  • Candidates must be based in Canberra or willing to relocate on an as-needs basis (including a period onsite).

This is a unique opportunity to work on a range of commercial law matters, including government procurement and sustainment matters, supporting broader Defence capability programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with commercial law projects;
  • Providing advice on government procurement and materiel acquisition;
  • Working collaboratively with the Department of Defence team;
  • Managing competing timelines and workloads;
  • Contributing to the development of sustainable commercial law solutions.

Expressions of interest may be subject to the Department of Defence ATL engagement moratorium.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years post-admission experience;
  • Experience working in commercial law with government procurement experience;
  • Commonwealth security clearance at NV1, NV2, or Baseline;
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively;
  • Ability to confidently manage projects and handle busy workloads.
