The Medical Unit is seeking a highly motivated and organised officer to provide executive level reception, administration, and coordination support.

This diverse role involves performing core functions of the branch to support and coordinate operational requirements.

Working in a hybrid role, you will have opportunities to further your career and capabilities.

The Medical Unit primarily provides support to the DFAT Overseas Network through assessing fitness for overseas posting, supporting four overseas clinics, providing remote medical support, and facilitating medical evacuations as required.

Key duties include:

  • Managing administrative and financial tasks using departmental IT systems
  • Liaising with travel providers and internal stakeholders on behalf of the Principal Medical Adviser
  • Maintaining MDU files in EDRMS records management system
  • Coordinating the receipt and distribution of pharmaceutical and medical consumables

A Diploma of Practice Management and experience in a health setting are desirable. You will need strong organisational skills, experience working in a large organisation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.

You will work closely with other teams to achieve key objectives, including delivering high-quality medical services and supporting staff wellbeing.
