Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead our construction procurement and commercial management efforts in Sydney, Australia. This is a field-based role that requires relocation or residency within 50 miles of the field location.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects, including estimation, contract negotiation, and payment applications.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft's commercial policies and procedures.
  • Provide commercial support to other teams as needed.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Controls, Quantity Surveying, or related field, and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of managing commercial aspects of construction projects, including estimation, contract negotiation, and payment applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) full membership or equivalent.
  • Commercial knowledge of international construction.

  • Experience with Microsoft's commercial processes and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Salary and Benefits


The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Microsoft offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and stock options.
