Lead the Charge Against Modern Slavery

This role will spearhead the development of policy solutions to combat modern slavery. Working closely with stakeholders, you will identify key areas for improvement and collaborate on designing initiatives to address these gaps.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform policy advice and develop effective solutions to combat modern slavery.
  • Design and implement engagement strategies to consult with representatives of government agencies, business, civil society, unions and the survivor community on OASC's policy proposals.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions to statutory, law reform and parliamentary processes related to modern slavery.
  • Provide strategic policy advice to the Commissioner on issues such as social procurement, labour hire regulation and training for frontline workers.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working on policy issues related to modern slavery and/or human rights, with strong knowledge of NSW legislation and policy relating to modern slavery.
  • Exceptional policy analysis and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including trauma-informed and cross-cultural communication.
  • Experience working with vulnerable people and communities.
