What to Expect
- Tesla is seeking a Policy Advisor to join the team in Australia and New Zealand. Our preferred location is Sydney or Canberra, but we are open to other locations, particularly Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland.

In this role you can make an enormous contribution to tackling global warming by working with governments to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. Electric vehicles are a fascinating policy area where several major technology shifts are interacting, and rapid change is required. You will have a chance to become expert in an exponentially growing industry.

This is suitable for an early or mid-career professional. You will report to the Senior Manager of Policy for Australia and New Zealand. The role will primarily focus on electric vehicle policy, but with an increasing focus on stationary energy, and on the battery supply chain.

What You'll Do
- Building coalitions of allies within the sustainable transport sector.
- Working with the Tesla delivery, charging, and service teams to identify, prioritise, and resolve regulatory and administrative barriers to electric vehicle adoption.
- Developing and negotiating policy proposals for all levels of government.
- Advocating on behalf of Tesla to stakeholders and decision-makers.

What You'll Bring
- Reliable and detail oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to work in fast-paced and less-structured work environment.
- 2+ years experience in politics, advocacy, government, or policy.
- Prior experience with transportation and electricity policy is a bonus.
