Job Title: Senior Policy and Compliance Advisor

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development, implementation, and review of policy frameworks and compliance strategies. As a Senior Policy and Compliance Advisor, you will provide expert advice on legislative obligations, risk management, and regulatory best practices.

You will monitor compliance activities, support internal audit and assurance processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure policies are practical, effective, and aligned with agency objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality reports, briefings, and submissions for senior executives and government bodies. You will champion a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of policy frameworks and compliance strategies
  • Provide expert advice on legislative obligations, risk management, and regulatory best practices
  • Monitor compliance activities and support internal audit and assurance processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure policies are practical, effective, and aligned with agency objectives
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and submissions for senior executives and government bodies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and compliance within government or regulatory settings
  • Strong knowledge of NSW Government legislative and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, public policy, governance, or a related field and/or relevant experience
