Electrical Design Engineer

This role is about producing electrical engineering work, including drawing and design, as delegated to support technical and commercial standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out assigned project and electrical engineering work
  • Understand electrical wiring and panel building based on ELV and LV designs
  • Read and interpret site audit photos, technical drawings, schematics, termination wiring and scope of works
  • Draft detailed design drawings using AutoCAD package
  • Development of power calculations to determine loads and battery sizes
  • Liaise with manufacturers for development of equipment schedules for sites
  • Development of detailed engineering report for electrical installation changes required on site
  • Ensure the safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, reviews, risk assessments and risk management
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree and ideally 3-5 years industry experience. They will also have strong experience with AutoCAD/Electrical Design and be able to apply and obtain RPEQ Certification as an Electrical Engineer in the next 12 months.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capacity to effectively handle competing priorities, prioritising work and meet tight deadlines
  • Track record of work effectively individually and in a team environment
