Job Title: Injury Management and Workers Compensation Specialist
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity exists within our National Safety Team, where you will play a critical role in mitigating workplace injuries across the organization.
As an Injury Management and Workers Compensation Specialist, your key responsibility will be to provide professional advice and guidance to support operations, while ensuring compliance with relevant workers compensation legislation across all Australian states and territories.
- Coordinate and administer Workers Compensation insurance premiums and actuals in conjunction with the payroll team.
- Manage and coordinate injury management across the organization by case managing and providing professional advice to relevant managers and branch-based Return to Work Coordinators.
- Liaise with insurers in different states and territories across Australia to ensure effective claims and injuries management.
- Be familiar with all relevant workers compensation legal frameworks in all states and territories across Australia.
- Have a strong working knowledge of all organizational workplace injuries and coordinate all rehabilitation and injury management activities associated with such injuries.
- Assist in undertaking in-depth investigations into workplace injuries to identify root causes and prevent future workplace injuries.
- A tertiary qualification in a related field, such as safety, social science, occupational physio, ergonomics, or human resources.
- Minimum of 5 years of injury management experience with significant operational exposure to the industrial sector, including manufacturing/logistics or other relevant industries.
- Very strong working knowledge of WHS and Workers Compensation legislation across all Australian states and territories.
- Very strong interpersonal skills (including influential skills) with an ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel proficiency.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and regulations.
