Anton Murray Consulting is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join their Wealth Management team in Melbourne. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a global financial services firm and contribute to the development of their branch supervisory manual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Strong Relationships: Foster a strong risk culture within the branch by building effective working relationships with staff.
  • Risk Issue Identification: Identify and provide guidance/solutions to State Managers and Head of Branch Supervision on risk issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure advisers are aware of their regulatory and risk obligations, and proactively manage the advice/suitability framework for compliance.
  • Reporting and Investigations: Prepare Key Risk Indicator reports for State Managers and investigate material risks identified through reporting.
  • Account Reviews: Conduct detailed account reviews, including preparing reports for advisers and State Managers on review outcomes.
  • Complaint Resolution: Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance team on complaint resolution.
  • Supervisory Framework Enhancement: Work with other risk functions to enhance the supervisory framework and contribute to projects as needed.
  • Branch Ethics: Ensure the branch maintains ethical standards in line with the Company Code of Conduct, policies, regulations, and legislative requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-4 years' experience in compliance or risk management within a financial services setting, preferably with an equities focus.
  • Fundamental Knowledge: First line of Defence risk, finance, business, or economics background (university degree preferred).
  • Industry Accreditations: Recognised industry qualifications and accreditations such as ASIC RG 146 and ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser (ADA Level 1) are desirable.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (depending on experience)
