Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Ecologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology and be able to provide high quality service and advice to clients.

The successful candidate will participate in field survey programs, interpret environmental legislation, and develop technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs and implications for environmental impact assessment and management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high quality service and advice in your area of expertise to clients and colleagues;
  • Participating in field survey programs to collect ecological data;
  • Interpreting environmental legislation to projects across various sectors;
  • Developing technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs;
  • Assisting in preparing tenders and proposals;
  • Integrating your technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams;
  • Making independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions;
  • Preparing reports outlining the findings of these studies.

The successful candidate must have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field. They should also have 4+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report production.

Skills and qualifications include:

  • A strong background in ecology and environmental science;
  • Experience in undertaking flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs;
  • Good knowledge of Western Australian flora and fauna;
  • Mature report writing and computer skills;
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks;
  • Proven project management experience in relation to client management.
