Environment Advisor - Biodiversity Expert

This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes in the Pilbara region and ensure our operations remain in step with both nature and policy.

We're looking for a values-driven environmental professional to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of biodiversity offset programs. This involves working closely with our principal environmental specialist to develop and implement strategies that help shape the future of biodiversity in the Pilbara.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ecological foundation, be curious and collaborative, and committed to sustainable outcomes. They should have 5–10 years' experience in an environmental role, familiarity with West Australian environmental law, and competence with GIS software.

  • Develop and roll out biodiversity offset strategies.
  • Support the implementation of biodiversity offsets under both state and federal environmental legislation.
  • Prepare and maintain impact reconciliation procedures (IRPs) and reports (IRRs) alongside our geospatial services team.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with regulatory bodies and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with our environmental commitments.
About this role

As an environment advisor, you will work closely with our team to drive environmental sustainability and deliver biodiversity offset programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote sustainable outcomes in the Pilbara region.

Key responsibilities

Biodiversity Offset Strategies: Develop and roll out biodiversity offset strategies to help shape the future of biodiversity in the Pilbara.

Environmental Legislation: Support the implementation of biodiversity offsets under both state and federal environmental legislation.

Impact Reconciliation Procedures (IRPs): Prepare and maintain IRPs and IRRs alongside our geospatial services team.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships and collaborate with regulatory bodies and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with our environmental commitments.

Qualifications and experience

We are seeking someone with a strong ecological foundation who is curious, collaborative, and committed to sustainable outcomes. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years' experience in an environmental role, familiarity with West Australian environmental law, and competence with GIS software.
