Base pay range

A$95,782.00/yr - A$114,938.00/yr

PSCA, Level 4 or 5, $95,782 - $100,526 or $105,167 - $114,938 p.a. plus 12% Superannuation

The Legal team plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) by ensuring compliance, managing risks and providing legal guidance on various matters. The legal team helps prevent legal issues before they arise, supports DBCA's growth and ensures DBCA operates within the law.

As a Legal Practice Coordinator in the Legal team, within the Science, Strategy and Governance Division, this role will be instrumental in providing paralegal support, coordinating the allocation and management of legal request to ensure timely response to requests. This role supports the achievement of these deliverables through the provision of highly responsive, customer focused legal services support to the DBCA, so that we deliver results for Western Australia and our stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than two (2) pages in total.

  • Considerable (Level 4) or substantial (Level 5) high level support and/or paralegal skills and experience, with an understanding of legal terminology, legal documents, and procedures.
  • Considerable (Level 4) or substantial (Level 5) experience in managing responses to subpoenas which includes coordinating the collection of documents from officers, reviewing the documents and submitting the documents within specified deadlines.
  • Demonstrated well-developed (Level 4) or highly developed (Level 5) interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with external organisations, government departments, statutory authorities and other agency staff at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the achievement of team outcomes.
