Job Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Injury Management Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the team responsible for managing complex people management issues. Your primary objective will be to plan, coordinate, and deliver successful injury management and return to work outcomes.

You will need to utilize your demonstrated liaison and negotiation skills to build productive relationships with employees, managers, and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and other third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, coordinate, liaise, and monitor the rehabilitation process in consultation with all parties and report on the effectiveness of the rehabilitation and return to work programs
  • Actively manage rehabilitation programs and provide early intervention
  • Determine whether engagement of a rehabilitation provider is required and ensure the provider delivers a high-quality and cost-effective service
  • Support managers and providers to ensure suitable duties are provided for injured employees
  • In compensation cases, ensure necessary paperwork is accurately completed, processed, and forwarded within legislated timeframes
  • Facilitate and navigate difficult situations/conversations to achieve successful rehabilitation and return to work outcomes
  • Successfully manage administration and timeframes in accordance with legislative requirements

Requirements:

Possessing excellent assessment and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to think on your feet, read situations quickly, and modify your approach accordingly, an ideal candidate will need excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft complex documents that effectively explain reasons for particular courses of action.

A clear understanding of the legislative and policy framework that relates to people management is critical. To be successful in this role, you will also need highly developed case management skills, well-developed communication and negotiation skills, and be able to interact effectively and sensitively with staff at all levels.
