About the Role

As an Access Program Coordinator at ATSICHS Brisbane, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding and supporting our team, stakeholders, and families to navigate the complexities of the NDIS.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop strategies that enhance NDIS literacy and access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals with disabilities.
  • Providing expertise and support to ensure our team delivers exceptional services, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and external agencies, ensuring culturally sensitive support and advocating for their unique needs within the NDIS framework.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our services through participation in quality improvement projects and initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III or higher qualifications in Health Care, Social Assistance, Community Services or Administration.
  • Knowledge, understanding and/or awareness of the NDIS space and the challenges the participants may face.
  • Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply practice judgement when working with clients in building capacity to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in working with culturally diverse people.
Desirable Requirements

While not essential, experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities would be highly regarded.
