About the Role

The Affordable Substance Use Support Specialist role supports Aboriginal individuals and their families, facilitating access to substance use treatment and care by coordinating referral services and support.

Your responsibilities include conducting culturally sensitive assessments of client needs, maintaining positive relationships with communities and service providers, offering case management and counselling as needed, and facilitating access to various treatment options for clients' recovery goals.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Extensive experience working with AOD and dual diagnosis clients, with a willingness to engage in relevant training.
  • Proficiency in working sensitively with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and services.
  • Ability to address complex client needs, including comprehensive screening, assessment, and support for individuals dealing with AOD issues.
  • Collaborative skills to cultivate supportive relationships with clients, families, service providers, and stakeholders.
