**Job Summary:

The Meat Department Supervisor oversees daily Meat Department operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coaches, and directs Meat Department personnel.
  • Monitors employee performance and provides feedback to promote teamwork.
  • Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
  • Responsible for employee evaluations and addresses concerns using problem-solving skills.
  • Implements safety procedures and maintains a high level of productivity.
  • Logs sanitation procedures performed on daily reports and complies with health code.
  • Assists with stocking cases and follows department production procedures for quality and consistency.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment according to SSOP guidelines.
  • Completes quality assurance and safety training required by the warehouse and Meat Department.
  • Determines production requirements and participates in meat cutting.
  • Checks quality and consistency of finished merchandise and oversees presentation.
  • Reviews sanitation log and checks for health code compliance.
  • Approves and submits physical inventory periodically and orders equipment, merchandise, and supplies.
  • Provides excellent customer service to members, employees, and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualification (Butcher)
  • Supervisory experience or leadership skills
  • Butchery, meat cutting, or comparable experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite, AS400, and basic math skills
