Job Title:

Carpentry Trainer and Assessor

We are seeking an experienced Carpentry Trainer and Assessor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the carpentry industry and experience in delivering vocational education and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver high-quality training programs in carpentry, ensuring that students gain the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their careers.
  • To assess student competence in carpentry skills, using a range of assessment methods including practical demonstrations and written assignments.
  • To maintain currency of vocational competencies and industry experience, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the carpentry sector.
  • To create and maintain own HR matrix, PD plan and PD logbook in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry or higher-level qualification in CPC training package.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the Carpentry sector as a carpenter, construction site supervisor, roofing specialist, etc.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (preferable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively inspire participation and convey information to gain commitment from others.
  • Demonstrated skills in the delivery and assessment of regulatory and competency-based training.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
