Job Overview

This key role leads a team in managing data workflows, from collection and analysis to reporting for various stakeholders.

About the Position

Developing and monitoring project plans, risk management strategies, and ensuring the delivery of NAPLAN data projects are essential responsibilities. Additionally, during the HSC period, support is required with HSC data processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project plan development and risk management to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Assist with HSC data processing during peak periods.
  • Deliver NAPLAN datasets and draft results reports.
  • Mentor junior team members, promote knowledge sharing, and uphold coding standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • High-level experience in implementing and overseeing matured test strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to tackle complex problems, both technical and related to project management.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships through clear communication and issue management.
  • Architect scalable, maintainable data solutions and develop technical roadmaps.
  • Experience designing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining ETL workflows in AWS cloud environments.
  • Proficient in using Linux command-line tools for data administration tasks and applying version control processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least five years of demonstrated experience in delivering use-case-driven data engineering solutions.
  • Expert-level SQL knowledge, including query tuning, schema design, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Python and PySpark programming languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver iteratively, prioritizing and planning in short cycles.
  • Current Working with Children Check clearance number (prior to commencement).
