Job Overview

The role of Lead Data Engineer, Assessment Delivery, involves leading a team to manage NAPLAN data workflows, from collection through analysis and quality assurance to reporting of data to various stakeholders in diverse formats.

This position requires developing and monitoring project plans, risk management strategies, and ensuring the delivery of NAPLAN data projects to achieve desired outcomes and support organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing project plans and risk management strategies for NAPLAN data projects.
  • Leading the team in managing NAPLAN data workflows, including collection, analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Delivering NAPLAN datasets and draft reports to stakeholders.
  • Mentoring direct report data engineers and analysts, promoting knowledge sharing, and upholding coding standards across the team.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in delivering use-case-driven data engineering solutions with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Expert-level SQL knowledge, including query tuning, schema design, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Python and PySpark programming languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver iteratively, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number prior to commencement, although not required at the application stage.
