About the Job

The successful candidate will lead a team to manage NAPLAN data workflows, including collection, analysis, quality assurance and reporting.

They will be responsible for developing project plans, managing risks and delivering projects on time to achieve organisational objectives.

The role requires high level experience implementing and overseeing test strategies, exceptional communication skills and proven experience tackling complex technical and project management issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing scalable data solutions, architecting technical roadmaps and maintaining stakeholder relationships through clear communication and negotiation.

  • Lead Data Engineer: This is a leadership role that involves guiding and directing the activities of data engineers and analysts to ensure timely delivery of NAPLAN data projects.

The role also requires expert-level SQL knowledge, experience with Python and PySpark, and the ability to work collaboratively and deliver iteratively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor project plans to ensure timely delivery of NAPLAN data projects.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities to achieve project outcomes.
  • Deliver NAPLAN datasets and draft results reports.
  • Mentor direct report data engineers and analysts, promote knowledge sharing and uphold coding standards.
Requirements
  • At least five years of demonstrated experience in delivering use-case-driven data engineering solutions.
  • Expert-level SQL knowledge, including query tuning, schema design and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Python and PySpark.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver iteratively.
Benefits

This is a full-time position with a total remuneration package of $149,739 - $173,174 p.a. plus employer's contribution to superannuation and leave loading.
