Lead Data Engineer, Assessment Delivery

This is a highly challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced data engineer to lead our team in managing NAPLAN data workflows.

  • We are seeking a senior data engineer with strong leadership and technical expertise to manage the delivery of NAPLAN data projects, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to develop and implement efficient data solutions, ensuring data integrity and quality. They will work closely with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop effective data strategies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing project plans, risk management plans, and ensuring the delivery of NAPLAN data projects to achieve project outcomes.
  • Assisting with HSC data processing during the HSC period.
  • Drafting NAPLAN results reports and delivering NAPLAN datasets.
  • Mentoring direct report data engineers and data analysts, promoting knowledge sharing, and upholding coding standards across the team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex projects.
  • Data Engineering Expertise: Exceptional skills in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and PySpark, and experience with AWS cloud environments.
