Job Opportunity in Emergency Medicine

An exciting chance to work within the Emergency Department at a leading hospital has become available.

Position Classification: Staff Specialist
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
Hours Per Week: up to 20

Deliver high-quality clinical management to patients attending the Emergency Department, including those in the Paediatric Emergency Department. Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and coordination of medical staff working in the Emergency Department to ensure efficient patient flow. Initiate and participate in clinical teaching and research as well as quality initiatives. This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).

The position will provide expert clinical consultation services and contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates, and other healthcare professionals. It will also be involved in research, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.

  • Hold a MBBS or equivalent qualification, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Be a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or recognised as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that consistently reinforce the CORE Values of the organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment.
  • Have appropriate experience with clinical, diagnostic, and technical skills commensurate with practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine in a tertiary hospital environment.
