Medical Specialist in Gastroenterology Vacancy

This is a temporary medical specialist role covering the period from August 4, 2025 to November 9, 2025. The successful candidate will be required to work in both Gosford Hospital and Wyong Hospital.

The ideal applicant should be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or possess other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

Central Coast comprises the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, which are expected to grow significantly by 2030. The Local Health District has strong connections with the University of Newcastle and Royal North Shore Hospital.

This position demands the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Gastroenterology
  • Supervising and training junior medical staff
  • Demonstrating interest in quality improvement methodologies
  • Aligning behaviours with organisational values and behavioural standards charter

Applicant Requirements:

  • Medical Practitioner registered or able to register in Australia
  • Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or equivalent specialist recognition
  • Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Gastroenterology
  • Aptitude to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment
