A Senior Medical Practitioner Opportunity in Child and Adolescent or Youth Mental Health

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Practitioner to join our team in Child and Adolescent or Youth Mental Health. The successful candidate will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in education and training programs
  • Participate in research activities relevant to the role and needs of the Department
Requirements:
  • Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1973 and the relevant Award/Determination
  • Demonstrated subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent or Youth Mental Health
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality service in the specialty, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position

Other Information:

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy PD2024_015. Successful applicants to the role must provide vaccination history and pathology as part of the application documentation and be certified as compliant before employment can commence.

The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.
