This is a key role for an experienced Senior Project Manager looking to advance their career in project management within the construction industry.

About This Role:
  • Lead and manage building construction/upgrade projects from planning to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans that align with business objectives.
  • Manage risk, procurement strategies, value engineering, and lifecycle considerations to drive optimal outcomes.
  • Foster strong relationships with consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with project briefs, statutory requirements, and value-for-money outcomes.
  • Prepare tenders (traditional and design & construct) in accordance with Australian Standards, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee commissioning, handover, and the defect liability period, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and performance tracking to inform business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in client-side project management for building construction/upgrade projects, with a strong understanding of contract administration principles.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, industry standards, and stakeholder responsibilities, with the ability to navigate complex contractual arrangements.
  • Qualifications in building construction or a related discipline, with a focus on practical application and problem-solving.
  • A high level of numeracy and literacy, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing project reports and stakeholder updates.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • A sound understanding of government policies, WHS standards, delegations, and financial procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Experience working in government or large infrastructure organizations, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in these sectors.
  • Familiarity with project profitability, fee proposals, and maintaining auditable records, with a focus on delivering results-driven outcomes.
  • A proactive approach to improving business systems and processes, with a passion for driving continuous improvement and excellence.
