Delivery Team Lead

We are seeking a well-rounded Data Delivery Lead to guide and support our data delivery team through the transition from on-premises SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring stability, capability, and ongoing growth.
This role combines strong people leadership with solid technical expertise and a learner's mindset. You will lead a small team of data engineers, empowering them to deliver high-quality data solutions in a modernising environment. Success in this role relies as much on communication and team development as it does on technical skills.
You'll help embed new practices for working in Google Cloud while maintaining reliable, scalable data solutions that meet both business and clinical needs.
The Position
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of data engineers, supporting their growth in cloud data platforms.
- Organise and prioritise workloads to ensure clear task allocation and steady progress against delivery goals.
- Facilitate communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders, simplifying complex challenges and proactively resolving blockers.
- Manage sprint planning, track progress, and continuously improve team processes.
- Foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective onboarding to build team cohesion.
- Support solution design, data modelling, and ETL processes, ensuring pipelines are reliable, reusable, and meet quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance in SQL Server and GCP environments, helping the team adopt cloud best practices.
