About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a key role in our Acute and Community Services team. The Perinatal Infant Mental Health Senior Clinician/Nurse Consultant will be responsible for facilitating intake, triage, and screening of referrals to connect parents experiencing moderate to severe perinatal and infant mental health concerns with tailored services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care pathways that ensure timely access to PIMH services prioritizing client safety and wellbeing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local PIMH services and eligibility criteria.
  • Support ongoing development of our NPIMH ForWhen program by participating in practice communities and contributing to continuous service improvement.
About You
  • You will have a relevant degree enabling full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • For Nurse Consultant: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health issues related to pregnancy, birth, trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and social determinants impacting infant, child, and family wellbeing.
